As New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern announces her resignation, we applaud her strength and self knowledge. She has already shown more inspirational leadership than many world leaders - her resignation speech is yet another example of that - and we suspect there is a lot more to come.
For now, she has declared that she “no longer has enough in the tank” to do the job. 
At 42, Ardern is just at the start of her midlife journey - the perfect time to stop and assess what’s working, what isn’t, what she wants to keep and what she wants to change.
