Vichy Neovadiol Phytosculpt Face and Neck Cream, £30
Vichy’s Neovadiol anti aging skincare range is specifically targeted at menopausal skin. Which is all of us. As well as a moisturiser for mature skin, the range has several game-changing products, from an elixir to a lip and eye contour cream. This most recent addition is formulated with Phytosterol to improve elasticity and Pro Xylane to firm and smooth. Definitely one to try.
Stratum C Menopause Protect Cream, £51
Stratum C products were launched in 2013 following research at the University of Reading. It was discovered that a specific chain of amino acids, known as Matrixyl, increases the production of collagen by up to 70%. Good news for anti aging skincare. Combined with hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil, this best-selling moisturiser for mature skin nourishes and plumps skin while reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Look out for the spot relief treatment too.
Healthspan Replenish Eye Serum, £13.95
Healthspan uses phytoestrogens and plant-derived hormones to slow down the skin’s ageing process. We’re never quite convinced by claims like that. Let’s be honest, you can’t actually slow down ageing. But if you’ve had a sleepless night, this eye serum might reduce puffiness and make you look a bit more awake.
Phytomone Pause Hydra Creme, £138
Phytomone was created by founder Jane Atherton in 2014, when she began going through perimenopause. She realised how few skincare products on the market were formulated specifically for her needs. She couldn’t find her perfect moisturiser for mature skin so she created one. Her first release, the Pause Hydra Cream, promises to leave even the driest skin soft and dewy. It’s pricey, so we’d expect results, but we’re intrigued.
Megs Menopause Rosey Rain, £15
Following a difficult time with her own menopause, Meg Mathews created her own beauty line. It contains this cooling spray to tackle hot flushes. Infused with natural rose oil and marshmallow extract (all vegan), this refreshing spray is also hydrating. You should apply it liberally throughout the day and store in the fridge where possible.
Look Fabulous Forever Hydration Hold Face Serum, £42
Tricia Cusden, 68, founded skincare and makeup line Look Fabulous Forever from her home. She also has a beauty blog for older women. Nourishing, lightweight and fast-absorbing, the serum is the stand out product. Containing hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and provitamin B5, it repairs your skin’s barrier while increasing firmness, so you might want to give it a go.
